"Rodali" -An Art Competition conducted in World Bank project area (Dimoria & Chandrapur) block of Kamrup Metropolitan district.
INTRODUCTION:
Neer
Nirmal Pariyojana a World Bank aided project presented an event by name ”Rodali” under which an Art Competition was conducted among
School Children of Dimoria and Chandrapur Block, of Kamrup Metro District on 25th
of January 2017.
Rodali as the name signifies ‘sunshine’ in
Assamese language is here to bring rays of sunshine and change into the lives
of people residing in Dimoria and Chandrapur block under Neer Nirmal
Pariyojana, World Bank aided project
Kamrup Metropolitan district. The event is so designed to uplift the lives and
bring change. Rodali envisages to come every year with different events under
its banner. On 25th of January an Art
Competition was organized for
school children with the sole objective
of giving a platform to their aesthetic
skill and bring to forefront their
vision and give wings to their ideas by encouraging them to think for the
future and the people around.
OBJECTIVE:
The
objective of the event is to encourage the young minds to express their
imagination through aesthetic inclination and creative skills and give a
platform into building a better and cleaner Assam for tomorrow.
The
programme was held at Chandrapur High school field (Chandrapur block) and
Kamarkuchi M.E School of (Dimoria block) under Neer Nirmal Pariyojana, World
Bank aided project. Community mobilizers were engaged to inform all Schools
(Lower Primary & ME) formally through letters in advance to head teachers
and Block Development Office about the upcoming event and prepare their
students accordingly. Posters with information were developed for the purpose
and plastered in all schools for the event.
The Theme of the Art Competition was:
“India today India tomorrow”
for students from class 1 to 5
“Protecting people and Environment” for students from class 6
to 8
The
venue was arranged outside in the school field at Kamarkuch ME school for
Dimoria Block by Community Mobilizers with sitting arrangement with Plastic
sheets underneath i.e. (Tripal) and tent as shade protecting small children from
strong sunlight while similar arrangement was made in Chandrapur High School field
and at Chandrapur Anchalik Bihu Mancha. The participants’ mostly came along
with their class teachers to represent their school. Resource persons were invited for the day in
each block to evaluate the performance of the students and the result was
announced to the candidate on the same day of their performance.
However a
separate programme was arranged for prize distribution on Eve of Republic Day i.e.
26th January 2017 wherein; all prize winners from Dimora block were
felicitated by Circle Officer of Dimoria block with certificates in recognition along with various prizes were distributed to all winners in each category
between Class (1 to 5) and (6 To 8) Prize Items were purchased for the winners and
participants and distributed as order mentioned below.
1st Prize: Oil
pastels of best quality of higher range, 2 Note books, hardboard for writing,
pencil sets with Eraser and sharpener, Pencil box and water bottle.
2nd Prize
Oil pastels of best quality, 2 Note books, hardboard for writing, pencil sets
with Eraser and sharpener Pencil box
3rd Prize:
Oil pastels of best quality, 2 Note books, pencil sets with Eraser and
sharpener and Pencil stand.
Besides
Pencils, Eraser, Sharpener, toffee was distributed to all participants on the
day of competition.
