“Mission Sambhav” ---- A massive Campaign

       Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin), Assam launched a massive Campaign titled “Mission Sambhav” across the state on March 26, 2018. The campaign was inaugurated by Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal in a State central ceremony at Morigaon district.  This campaign is an innovative step across the State which would lead to declaration of many districts, blocks, GPs, villages as ODF, thus leading to Swachh Assam                 
    
        Kamrup Metropolitan district too participated in this launch with other districts of the state on 26th of March 2018. The campaign aimed to promote mass mobilization through local public representatives, local units of Police, Army, Para Military Forces, Health department, Community Based Organizations, NGOs, Colleges, Training institutes, PRI members,  Block Coordinators, Swaccha Grahis, Health workers  to get directly involved with the Swachh Bharat Mission by offering “Shramdaan”.

       A central programme of Kamrup metro district level was organized in Trycem Hall of Dimoria Block on 26th of March 2018 attended by eminent persons from all departments and walks of life to participate in Shramdaan Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metropoliton district Shri. Virendra  Mittal  and eminent dignitaries were involved in pit digging exercise. In Kamrup metro district 100 pits were dug in a day. Deputy Commissioner Kamrup metro district stated that this would win the confidence of people and increase their faith in governmental welfare policies.

       A robust plan was developed for implementing “Mission Sambhav” under the guidance of Mission Director, SBM (G) Dr. Siddharth Singh. A strategic reporting mechanism was developed and directives issued by Kamrup Metro District Water & Sanitation Committee (KMDWSC) under chairmanship of DC Kamrup Metro to track the progress and provide necessary handholding support required for gearing up the work. The Campaign focuses in urging communities to construct toilet on their own (who are eligible under SBM (G) where direct beneficiary transfer (DBT) mode may also be followed by the Mission.

         “Mission Sambhav” also witnessed construction of 102 nos. of sanitary toilet with target of 100 nos. for Kamrup Metro district out of which 84 nos. through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative rest 16 nos. of sanitary toilets constructed by motivated families on their own and 2 nos. IHHL donated by Deputy Commissioner Shri. V. Mittal announced at centrally organised programme “Trycem Hall” of Dimoria block in presence of 780 participants from different gaon panchayats from the block and community members block officials and departmental representatives.  SBM (G) promotes the concept of “Daan Toilet” which emphasizes on donating of a sanitary toilet to a person who does not have a sanitary toilet through this noble initiative. SBM (g) wants all the rural people of Assam to have access to sanitary toilet. This step is specially meant for households which are left out of the baseline survey conducted in 2012 or newly grown households. As an IEC strategy to disseminate the message media houses and journalist were involved to cover the footage of the event and good practices carried out by motivated families, philanthropic work of individuals and eager corporate houses.
