Organised Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2018

The Union Government has launched yet another campaign to make India clean. The Swachhta Hi Seva (cleanliness is service) campaign has now been introduced as a nation-wide fortnight-long sanitation drive. The campaign will be highlighting Modi government's flagship cleanliness initiative Swachh Bharat Mission.

A jan andolan for Swachhata to be observed in the run-up to the 4th anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), i.e. from September 15th to October 2nd 2018.
All NGOs, schools, colleges, social, cultural and political leaders, corporates, government officials, collectors and sarpanches, are requested to participate in  Swachhata Hi Seva and Shramdaan activities during this period.

During this period the DPMU, Kamrup(M) has also organised various activity along with PHED, Guwahati Division No-1,  in the project areas to fulfil the  campaign.  During this period various cleanliness drive, awareness program, Art competition , Essay competition , Marathon Race, Craft Design competition from Waste Materials were conducted among the youth in various colleges and institutions. The top performer  among the competitor as awarded  by PHED, Guwahati Division No-1.

Organised SSG-2018 in NNP, Kamrup(M)



The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation intends to “Swachh Survekshan Grameen2018” (SSG, 2018) through an independent survey agency to develop ranking of the 680 districts, pan India on their rural sanitation status. This ranking will be based on a comprehensive set of quantitative and qualitative sanitation (Swachhata) parameters including data from the SBM-G IMIS, district-level surveys of public places like schools, Anganwadis, PHCs, Haat bazaars, Panchayat and citizen’s perception of Swachhata and their recommendations for improvement of the program. An independent agency has been hired by the Ministry which will visit  villages to undertake the survey of public places and obtain citizens’ feedback

  Regarding  this the DPMU, Kamrup(M) has organize various activity under  support SBM-(G)  for supporting SSG-2018 in the project areas.  During this period various cleanliness drive of all public places, awareness program in every villages, rally, wall writing, banner- postering, installations of dustbin , leaflet distribution involvement of community for citizens feedback through  Swachhta App etc.

 The main objective of DPMU during SSG-108 are as follows
  • ·   Undertake ranking of District SSG-2018 on the basis of  key quantitative and qualitative SBM-G parameters
  • ·     Engage rural community in improvement of their sanitation status through an intensive IEC campaign
  • ·         Engage with citizens and solicit their feedback and recommendation on improving the program
  • ·         Ascertain Swachhata on ground through direct observation of sanitation status in public places


  During this period around 502 of activity details organised in Kamrup(M) district are entered along with 679 various photograph of the activities with  4 nos of videos and 4 nos of news clips are  upload in SBM-(G)  online system where 19891 citizens participated and 8770 nos of Citizens Feedback were collected from various place through Swachhata App.
