Infrastructure Development

         The Composite Water Supply Scheme for sustainability and quality in Kamrup District as mentioned above is divided into two zones:
i)                    Zone –I comprising of Chandrapur Block.
ii)                   Zone-II comprising of Dimoria Block.

The intake location for Zone-I will be near Gobardhan bazar and the main source will be river Kolong from where raw water will be pumped to the WTP site, located at the hill top of Tatimara village for treatment. The total capacity of WTP under Zone-I is 5 MLD and the whole treatment process comprises of:-
i)                    Pre-sedimentation.
ii)                   Aeration.
iii)                 Coagulation
iv)                 Floculation.
v)                  Filtration.
vi)                 Chlorination.

6 nos. of GSR’s located at three elevated pinpoints will serve the purpose of distribution
through gravity to the entire Chandrapur block serving the purpose of providing potable drinking water to all the households throughout 24x7.

                The intake location for Zone-II will be near Kolongpar bazar and the main source will be river Kolong from where raw water will be pumped to the WTP site, located at the hill top of Gomoria village for treatment. The total capacity of WTP under Zone-I is 17.80 MLD and the whole treatment process is same as that of Zone-I. 29 nos. of ESR’s will serve the purpose of distribution through gravity to the entire Dimoria block serving the purpose of providing potable drinking water to all the households throughout 24x7.

                A total of 38,000 households (which may vary after detailed survey) will be benefited by the entire project.

                At present 35-40% of construction works has been completed at both the WTP sites and laying of raw water pumping main is going on in both the zones.
