Project Implementation

           To implement the said project, World Bank support the scheme under Neer Nirmol Poriyojana in the Kamrup(M) district for Dimoria and Chandrapur Block. A Project implementing unit is formed for planning , implementation & guideline formulation for operation & maintainance. This unit is formed as per Govt norms under EE, PHED, Guwahati Div-1 with some designated engineers of concerned department and domain specialist support staff. Similarly to implement the project in GP’s the GPWSC committees are formed in each and every GP’s under project areas and MVWSC is at district level to monitor the activity of GPWSC and act as project governing committee.
               
Fund provision for the proposed mega water supply project under NNP, the total project cost will shared between world bank , Govt of India, Govt of Assam and the Community belong to the project areas. World Bank share is 50%, Central Govt Share is 44.5%, state govt share is 4.5% and community share is 1%. The community share will be beared by every beneficiary under the project areas.
               
The Neer Nirmol Pariyojna not only covers the house hold level piped water supply connection but it also covers all the institutional level establishment .The project will also cover sanitation and facilitate development of proper Solid and liquid waste management system in the project area. For this reason it is important to collect all the detail information of every house hold regarding socio-economic & socio-cultural status. Regarding that a proper base line survey is conducted with the GPS co-ordinate system under the project area. The survey is done by the enumerators (2 Persons from each GP) in their respective GP selected by the GPWSC committee. The first phase of base line survey is completed in the month of Aug/2016.


 Community Contribution collection process initiated by the Deptt in the respective GPs under project areas through awareness generation to sensitize the community to well versed about the project and secondly regarding the guideline of the collection process. It was conveyed to the community that how much vital is the contributing amount for implementation of the NNP Project.  To collect the contribution and keeping the records community mobilizers are engaged at GP wise (2 Nos from each GP) through the GPWSC following proper selection process.  The community mobilizers are properly trained toward conducting IEC, IPC for ensuring the community participation. They were oriented through some inclusive training structured by the DPMU team to orient them toward awareness generation. The collection process was started during the month of Mar/2016. 
The collected contribution of the GP regularly deposited by the Mobilizer to the Bank & concern GPWSC maintain the cash book for proper handling of the capex contribution. DPMU initiate the process of bank account opening for each GPWSC committee.

No’s of activities carried out by the community Mobilizers to achieve the target. The activities undertaken by them geared up the community participation process in the project area.
